Additionally, Google unveiled Project Astra, an experimental AI assistant that utilizes real-time input from smartphones for interactive responses, boasting enhanced multilingual capabilities and improved memory functions. This effort positions Google to contend with competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic, especially during a surge in user interest amid recent product announcements from OpenAI.
In a competitive market, Anthropic has also introduced Claude 3.5 Haiku, a faster AI model positioned as a cost-effective alternative, especially in coding tasks, further intensifying the rivalry in generative AI. Both Google’s and Anthropic’s premium services are priced similarly, reflecting the growing demand for advanced AI capabilities across sectors.
