AI Security Edge

Free · Four live searches per run

Does ChatGPT name your company?

Four questions a property owner would actually type, asked today with live web search, and you see every company name that came back in the order it came back. It is four draws on one day, not a ranking and not a score.

The four questions

  1. best home security company in your town
  2. who installs alarm systems in your town
  3. fire alarm company near your town
  4. business security system installer your town

We ask for your email first because each run makes four live searches and those cost us real money. Two runs per address per day. We send you the result in writing so you can forward it. Takes about half a minute.

What this can and cannot tell you

Read this before you read a result, yours or anybody else’s.

This is one day, not a standing

Each of the four questions was asked once, just now. Ask the same question tomorrow and the list comes back in a different order with different companies on it. So the honest way to read this is “named in 1 of 4 draws today”. There is no such thing as being number three, and anyone who sells you a rank in an AI answer is selling you something that does not exist.

We show you the raw names on purpose

Under every question you get the exact list that came back, in order. We do that so you can check our work. Our name matcher ignores words every company in your trade shares — alarm, security, fire, systems, monitoring — and then compares what is left, and on a company whose name is mostly its town it can get it wrong in both directions. Read the list yourself. If we marked the wrong company as you, the list will show it.

What we actually asked

We used OpenAI’s web-search model as a stand-in for what an AI assistant tells a customer. It is a stand-in, not a recording of somebody’s real conversation, and we are telling you that up front rather than letting you assume otherwise.

A question that did not come back stays blank

If one of the four fails, it says “we could not run this one” and it is left out of the count. It is never turned into “they did not name you”. That would be us inventing a result you paid for with your email.

Why a dealer would bother

The question has moved

People used to type the trade and the town into a search box and pick from a list. Now a lot of them ask an assistant to just tell them who to call, and they get two or three names instead of ten. Being one of the two or three is a different job from being on page one.

It is a draw, every time

There is no standings table behind an AI answer. The same question asked twice in a row can hand over two different companies, which is why one run is a reading and not a report card. What is worth watching is the pattern over several runs, not any single one.

What moves it

An assistant can only hand over a company it can find something to say about. The companies that come back tend to have a site it can read, a plain answer on the page to the question that was asked, and enough of a trail elsewhere — reviews, listings, mentions — to look real. None of that is a trick, and none of it happens in a week.

The share of people who asked an AI assistant to recommend a local business went from 6% to 45% in one year.BrightLocal Local Consumer Review Survey 2026, 1,002 US adults.

Questions dealers ask

Does this tell me my ranking in ChatGPT?
No, and nothing can. There is no ranking to report. An AI answer is generated fresh each time, so what you have here is four draws on one day. Run it again next month and compare the two — that comparison is worth something. A single number called a rank is not.
My company was not named. Does that mean ChatGPT cannot see me?
No. It means these four answers, today, did not include you. Your site may be perfectly readable and you can still be left out of an answer, because the assistant only hands over two or three names out of everyone it could have picked. The useful follow-up is whether the companies it did name have something on their pages that you do not.
You named a company that is not really a competitor.
That happens. We ask for local companies in your trade and we tell the model to leave out directories and national lead-selling brands, but it is still a machine answering a question, and it will sometimes hand over an electrician, a national brand, or a company two towns over. You are looking at the raw list, so you can see it for yourself rather than taking our summary for it.
Why do you need my email before it runs?
Every run makes four live web searches and those cost us real money per click. Taking the email first is what keeps the button from being a bill anybody on the internet can run up. Two runs per address per day. We send you the result in writing so you can forward it.
How often should I run it?
Once a month is plenty. Any two runs close together will disagree with each other, and that disagreement is the nature of the thing rather than a change in your business.

Run it, write the number down, run it again in a month

What changes a result like this is slow work on the things an assistant can actually find: the answers on your own pages, your listings, and your reviews. That is what Local SEO is — it is run for you every month, and the price is on the page. $497 a month for one location, and $197 a month for each location after that, with a three-month minimum.
