How does your marketing actually score?
Put in your company name, your city and your website and this free scorecard reads your Google Business Profile, pulls the review count and rating of up to three other security companies in the same city, and reads your own home page from our server. You get a score out of 100, the three biggest gaps in plain words, and one next step for each. Everything on it is something you can go and check yourself.
What we look at
Three things, and every one of them is something you can go and check yourself right after you read the score.
Your Google listing
Whether Google has a profile it can tie to your website, how many reviews are on it, the star rating, whether your hours are filled in, whether it links to your site, and whether there are photos. This is the thing most customers see before they ever reach your website.
The other companies on the same map
The top security companies Google shows for your city, side by side with you on review count and rating. We leave out the national brands, because you are not competing with their marketing budget, and we leave out your own listing.
Your website, read from our server
Whether it loads over a secure address, whether a phone number is in the first screen, what your page title and description say, whether it is built to fit a phone, whether anything on it answers what it costs, whether it shows reviews, and whether there is any sign it has been worked on lately.
What this scorecard will not do
Every line on your scorecard says what we saw. If we cannot match your Google profile with confidence, or your website will not load for us, that line says could not check and is left out of the score entirely. We would rather hand you a shorter scorecard than a wrong one.
- Your website is fetched from our server, not from your browser, so the result does not depend on your computer or your network.
- We match your Google profile by the website listed on it. A profile that does not list your address as its website is not treated as yours.
- The competitor list comes from what Google shows for security companies in the city you typed. ADT, Vivint, Brinks, SimpliSafe and Ring are left out.
- "First screen" means the top of your home page: everything down to the end of your header.
- A score is out of the lines we could actually check, so a scorecard with two could-not-checks on it is scored out of what is left, not out of a hundred we guessed at.
Where each gap goes
Most of what this scorecard finds you can fix yourself in an afternoon, and the report tells you how. These two are what we do when you would rather it was handled.
Listing and reviews
Local SEO
We work on the Google profile and the review flow week after week, so the listing people actually see is the one you want them to see.

See it hereQuestions owners ask
- It says it could not find my Google profile. Is that a problem?
- It might just mean the profile does not list your website, or lists an old one. We only accept a profile as yours when the website on it matches the address you typed, because the alternative is showing you somebody else's review count. Open your listing, check the website field, and run it again.
- Why are ADT and Vivint not in the competitor list?
- Because you are not competing with a national television budget, and putting them on the list would make every dealer's scorecard look the same. We compare you with the independent companies a customer in your city would actually be choosing between.
- My review count is low but my customers love me. Does that matter?
- To somebody who already knows you, no. To a stranger comparing three companies on a phone, the review count is usually the whole decision. It is the single easiest thing on this list to move and the one that moves the most.
- Does this tell me anything about ChatGPT?
- Not directly. This one is about the ordinary things a customer sees. If you want to know whether ChatGPT is even allowed to read your site, the AI reader check on this site is free too.
- Do you save what I put in?
- Only if you ask us to email you the scorecard. The run itself stores nothing.
The score is the easy part. Moving it is the work.
